Meet the people curating the internet — artists, designers, writers, perfumists, students, wellness practitioners, architects, and chefs.

Letter from the desk

As I sit here on this park bench, I can't help but notice the wonderful variety displayed by people walking by. The thousands of choices they’ve made to end up right in this place at this time, with those clothes, listening to that music, having just eaten that meal. We’re a rich tapestry of our experiences, our preferences.

For as long as I can remember, the internet was a mirror of that. Of life. It reflected the places, and products, and interests of people. More recently, it’s veered off that path. We’ve seen the pollution of our internet. In their efforts to better commercialize the world wide web and its information, we’re flooded with ads and potently optimized content. Add ai into this, and it starts to tear at the seems…I think we all see it.

And, so, here’s what I’ve come to believe after a lifetime on the internet, after decades of searches and links: the good stuff always seems to come from other people. From the conversations that run long, the suggestions from friends, the overheard at coffee shops, the interviews sprinkled with niche knowledge.

This is a call to people out there. To the curious, the cultivators, the obsessive, the weirdos, and the connoisseurs, Pletta is a place for your perspective. A place to learn, and explore, and stumble upon the things that make life beautiful, more fun, easier, and restorative. The places, events, and things we fill our lives with.

Pletta is a home for all the links worth keeping, for the sparks of interest, for those special evenings out, or slow Sunday mornings. This is the internet according to people, and we can’t wait to see what you source.
